We collect personal information in the following ways:

A. Information you provide directly

• Repair requests: name, phone number, email address (optional), device brand/model, damage description, delivery method, and pickup/drop-off address where applicable.
• Parts orders / checkout: name, phone number, and email address.
• Communications: messages you send us via WhatsApp, email, or phone.

B. Information collected automatically

• Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL, timestamps) collected by our hosting provider (Vercel).
• Cart contents stored in your browser’s local storage — this data never leaves your device unless you complete a checkout.
• Repair wizard progress stored in session storage — cleared automatically when you close the browser tab.

C. Information from third parties

• We may display publicly available Google Reviews on our site via the Google Places API. We do not receive private reviewer information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

• Process, confirm, and manage your repair request or parts order.
• Communicate with you about your booking, repair status, or order via WhatsApp, email, or phone.
• Provide a quote or invoice.
• Maintain records of completed repairs and parts orders for our internal business operations.
• Improve our website and services based on aggregated, anonymised usage data.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails or texts.

3. Legal Basis & Consent

By submitting a repair request or checkout form, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information for the purposes described in this Notice. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us (see Section 9), though withdrawal may prevent us from completing a pending repair or order.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We may share your personal information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Supabase (database/storage, hosted in the US — governed by Supabase’s privacy terms and standard contractual clauses); Vercel (web hosting, US-based); Google (Reviews API).
• WhatsApp: When you complete a repair booking or parts enquiry, your information is included in the WhatsApp message you send us. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and is subject to its own privacy policy.
• Legal requirements: If required to do so by law, court order, or government authority.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to a successor entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

5. Data Storage & Security

Customer data is stored securely in our Supabase database with row-level security controls. Access to customer records is restricted to authorised FasoFix administrators. We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data may be stored on servers located outside Canada (primarily the United States). By using our services, you acknowledge this cross-border transfer.

6. Data Retention

We retain repair request and order records for a period of 3 years following the date of service to support warranty claims, tax compliance, and business records requirements. Records may be retained longer if required by law. You may request deletion of your information (see Section 8) and we will comply to the extent permitted by our legal and business obligations.

7. Cookies & Tracking

FasoFix does not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. We use:

• Browser local storage — to persist your shopping cart between visits. This is stored entirely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you complete a checkout.
• Browser session storage — to save your repair booking progress within your current browser session. This is automatically cleared when you close the tab.

Third-party services such as Google Fonts and the Google Reviews API may set cookies or log requests subject to Google’s own privacy policy.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations.
• Withdraw consent: Withdraw your consent to our processing at any time.
